Hand hooping is one of the first hula hoop tricks I teach my students. Why? Because hand hooping is a foundational movement within the hoop that acts as a gateway to other parts of your body. Whether you’re interested in hooping for fitness, flexibility, tricks, or just for fun, hooping on your hand(s) is a must-learn. Hand hooping tend to be easier with smaller/lighter hoops. Mostly because heavier hoops can wear out the bones in your hand pretty quickly, depending on how tense your grip is. I recommend starting with a moderate weighted hoop, that way you still have some momentum to work with, but you won’t get tired too quickly. The following hula hoop tutorial is instructed by Abby from Hoola Fit.
