Hula Hoop Tricks: “Outside Isolations”

Learn how to do Outside Isolations with Jocelyn Gordon! This tutorial shows examples of vertical and diagonal trace isolations, which is simply a shift in hand position on the “clock” we call the hoop. This hoop trick varies from regular isolations because your hand position is on the outside of the hula hoop, instead of the inside.  This is a great move for beginners, because it allows you to explore the world of isolations without having to release and re-grip the hoop with one hand, which takes a fair amount of speed and practice.  Consider this tutorial a great entry point.  And if you are already well versed in regular isolations, this trick will give you a new twist on a familiar concept.
